Bring a living relic to your aquarium with the Albino Bichir 3". This prehistoric-looking fish is a true conversation starter, featuring a sleek, eel-like body and a beautiful, pearlescent albino-white coloration. Its most defining features are a series of small, feathery dorsal fins and two distinct, fan-like pectoral fins that give it a unique way of "walking" along the substrate. This small specimen is a great way to start with this fascinating species and watch it grow into a larger, more impressive fish.
The Albino Bichir is a peaceful, bottom-dwelling predator. It is a carnivorous species that will happily coexist with any fish too large to fit in its mouth. It is nocturnal, so it will be most active at night, prowling the bottom of the tank in search of food. An important note for all bichir owners: they are master escape artists, so a very secure lid is an absolute must.
Diet
For their diet, Albino Bichirs are carnivores and require a high-protein diet. As a bottom-dweller, it's best to feed them sinking foods. They will readily accept high-quality carnivore sinking pellets and a variety of frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and mysis shrimp. You can also occasionally offer live foods such as earthworms or blackworms to supplement their diet. A rich, varied diet will ensure your bichir remains healthy and strong.
