Assorted High Quality Discus

Originating from the Amazon River Basin in South America, the Discus are commonly referred to as the jewel in the crown of the freshwater aquarium. Extensive breeding programs throughout Europ and Asia has led to some truly stunning colours and patterns emerging into the market at a dizzying rate. These beautiful and majestic fish require a meat based diet that should include Bloodworm, Discus Deleight and even some finely chopped beef heart.

Although Discus are categorised in the Cichlid damily, they are much more peaceful than their South American and African cousins, and are commonly seen being kept with schools of Cardinals and Rummynose Tetra. Proper water and tank maintenance is a must with these fish, a Temperature of between 27-30C and a pH reading of 6-6.5 should be maintained.
